The perfect course for those new to dressmaking, or those who haven’t made a garment for years and want to regain confidence.
Limited to just four students, the first day will focus on pattern adjustment so that you will make a garment that fits you, cutting out and then beginning to sew.
On the second day you will continue the sewing and learn some of the essential techniques – how to insert a zip, and a sleeve.
Bring your own pattern and fabric.
If you are unsure of what pattern to choose, then please get in touch to discuss.
This is a workshop using woven fabric only – i.e. not fabrics that stretch.
All The Corner Patch workshops, classes and Sit & Sew sessions are held in the newly air-conditioned workroom above the shop.
Janome computerised sewing machines are provided for students’ use, along with rotary cutter, rulers and cutting mats.
Please bring your own basic sewing kit if possible. Tea and coffee making facilities are also provided.
You may also find a notebook and pen useful.
Other dates are constantly being added; please contact us if you want to attend a particular course but you can’t make the available dates.
