Kendra Binney was raised in a small mountain town with no shoe stores. Most of her time was spent barefoot, treading through the minuscule world of spiders, snakes and all things hiding in the grass. She transfers this closeness with the small and obscure into her paintings. Through layers of colour and texture, she illustrates a world of magical landscapes filled with lush flora and whimsical characters. Seen through pastel washes and her works evoke both nostalgia and longing. They are at once gentle and mysterious, curious and familiar. Though her paintings have been exhibited, sold, and published around the world, Kendra herself spends most days in a small studio in Portland, Oregon in the USA. There she paints, daydreams, and paints some more.
This is one of the coordinates from the Serenity collection, matching the panel, but also really useful in its own right.
It is a real ‘watercolour’ feel, with scattered flowers and butterflies on a pale blue background. These are softer colours and images that the Wildflowers fabrics.
