We are now taking bookings for the ‘Little Stitchers’ children’s sewing classes over the 2024 school summer holiday.
Classes will be held on Thursdays from 25th July to 29th August.
Classes are limited to 4 students and will be taught by two members of staff.
There will be a short break during the sessions for a drink and a snack. We will access the garden at the rear of The Arcade of the weather is dry.
Morning sessions (10am – 1pm) will be for ‘experienced’ sewers – i.e. those who have already attended a sewing class with us. Students will be encouraged to tackle a project over a number of weeks. This could include an item of clothing or some patchwork. An additional charge may be necessary if more than 0.5m of fabric is involved.
Afternoon sessions (2.30 – 4.30) are for new sewers who have not used a sewing machine or completed their ‘sewing machine driving licence’.
Children will complete a small project to take home every week. This may include a sunhat, a bag, soft toy, pencil case, etc.
All materials are included in the price for new sewers.
All The Corner Patch workshops, classes and Sit & Sew sessions are held in the newly air-conditioned workroom above the shop.
Janome A100QDC sewing machines are provided for students’ use, along with rotary cutter, rulers and cutting mats.
Please bring your own basic sewing kit if possible. Tea and coffee making facilities are also provided.
Other dates are constantly being added, but please contact us if you want to attend a particular course but you can’t make the available dates.
